The Clavius Distinguished Lecture (CDL) is named for Christopher Clavius, a celebrated 16th-century mathematician and astronomer, who helped to develop Gregorian calendar. Among former Fordham University Clavius Distinguished Speakers are Founders and CEOs of high-tech companies, members of the United States National Academy of Sciences, and a President of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. Dr. Gavrilova's research contribution and scientific impact belongs to this prestigious group. Dr. Gavrilova delivered her lecture: “A Decade of Multi-Modal Biometric Research and AI-powered Decision-Making: What We Learned About Privacy, Security and Trust” to a standing ovation from Fordham University alumni, researchers, students and the Dean of Graduate School of arts and Sciences.
